Here are a few pictures I took from the "Star Trek 30: One Weekend on Earth" celebration. Enjoy!

| Here are some pics of the "supporting
cast" from the Original Series. Featured are: James Doohan, Walter Koenig, George
Takei, and Nichelle Nichols (and if you don't know who's who... shame on you!). |
| Of course, the crew wouldn't be complete without
its captain and first officer. So here's William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. |
| There was also a segment where the
"aliens" spoke with the crowd about their makeup procedures (among other things)
and to Star Trek's makeup director, Michael Westmore. Featured here are (L to R):
Ethan Phillips (Neelix), Rene Auberjonois (Odo), Armin Shimerman (Quark), and Michael
Westmore. There were also a few Klingons roaming around looking to get into trouble
(right). And we were "informed" that the female was not his "mate,"
but his Superior Officer... |
| During the special Tribute event, there was a
stunt show where a lone Federation officer took on a whole gang of Klingon warriors. I
want this guy on my next Away Team... Not a Klingon was left standing... |

| Nichelle Nichols graciously signed many
autographs. The lines were long, but here (on the right) she is about to sign a momento
for a friend of mine who waited a long time to finally meet her face to face. |
| The Franklin Mint had an original model of the
Enterprise-D on display (left). Ken and Barbie were also "there" to kick off
Mattel's new Star Trek Ken and Barbie dolls (right). |
| As part of the pass to ST30, we were able to spend some time at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. On the left is a full-size mockup of the Space Shuttle. (You can tell they have rednecks in Alabama... they've got the Space Shuttle up on concrete blocks...) On the right is a cockpit of a Space Shuttle Simulator located at Space Camp. | |
